Parental Guidance Required

Tonight we started a new series at Ridge called "Parental Guidance Required". It's a 4 part series and if the other three are anything like tonight, you won't want to miss this series! (It should be up on the Ridge site by Monday afternoon) We've all heard lots of parenting advice, some we can use and some we wish we'd never heard, but Andy seems to always have a way of unpacking the scriptures so they're practical and applicable to my life. He talked a great deal about how many of our children (mine included) are experience rich and relationship poor. How we are so busy making sure they get to karate, ballet or piano, but how we don't spend time teaching them to build a relationship with their heavenly Father. He also talked a lot about the relationships they build outside their home and how important those relationships are to the person they will become. Made me think an awful lot about how grateful I am to the many people who have poured their love into my three kids. If you are one of them (and I'm sure you know who you are!).... From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for helping us to shape the adults my precious kids will grow up to be! Below are some of the pictures of tonight's set and foyer set up. Since the title "PG Required" made us think of the movies, we kind of ran with that theme. It was a blast! Popcorn and coke, big boxes of candy, a movie marquee (man, is my man talented!) and even a red carpet! I couldn't think of better way to end my Mother's Day.

Popcorn and soda , Rusty and the crew setting the stage , A shot of the stage (Look at that marquee!)

This is where my kids get to hang out! UpStreet, Another view of the stage set up,Shot of the Foyer.. complete w/movie posters!
